The trading products of stainless steel coils on the market are basically in two forms, namely flat plate and steel coil. As stainless steel has high requirements for surface quality and plate type, appropriate packaging is essential. Generally speaking, there are two kinds of stainless steel coils from the final sales state: one is sold in the original packaging of the steel factory, and the other is sold after strip processing. Due to different emphasis, the two kinds of packaging are different.
Steel mill original coil packaging
Steel mill coil packaging mainly plays two roles: one is the symbolic role. The packaging of each steel plant has its own form, with different colors, packaging materials and packaging methods. Customers can well distinguish which steel plant the stainless steel coil is from the packaging. The second function is protection. The packaging of the steel plant fully takes into account the needs of the steel coil in the hoisting and turnover, so all packaging components can play a good role in protection.
Separate steel coil packaging
Slitting is the common name of longitudinal shear. Slitting is one of the important rough machining of stainless steel. Although it is rough machining, slitting is a very technical machining. It has high requirements for equipment and operators, especially when processing steel coils below 0.5mm. The slitting processing may be to cut edges for the raw edge roll, or to cut small rolls of various widths, or to open the front processing of small plates of fixed size. Because many customers have high requirements for the slitting roll, the packaging of the slitting roll is also relatively rich, aiming to protect the slitting roll well and ensure the product quality.
Generally speaking, common striped packaging can be divided into horizontal and vertical packaging. Horizontal packaging has a cylinder diameter parallel to the ground, and vertical packaging has a cylinder diameter vertical to the ground. These two kinds of packaging have their own advantages and disadvantages, which are explained in detail below.
Horizontal packaging
It is quite common. Usually, stainless steel coils are placed horizontally. The advantage of horizontal packaging is that it is convenient to hoist. Whether it is single C hook or double C hook, it can be easily hoisted. Its disadvantage is that it must be placed on a special trough shaped wooden frame. For narrow strips placed separately, it must also prevent rollover.
Vertical packaging
The biggest advantage is that it is stable. It will not cause problems such as rollover, so it is more suitable for long-distance transportation. The wooden frame it uses is also relatively simple, and the ordinary "well" shaped frame is OK. However, it is troublesome to lift it, so it must use slings or special slings. Because the steel coil is horizontal when it is pulled out of the machine by slitting, it must be turned up by the turning machine, which is inefficient. And if you don't pay attention, the side of the vertical packaging is vulnerable to injury.
